Vintage 1960's Rewrapped Ludwig Super Classic Kit in Red Sparkle - 13, 16, 22

These beautiful Ludwig shells came to us stripped and rewrapped in contact paper.  

We removed the contact paper, sanded the shells, repainted the interior (in the proper Benjamin Moore white) and rewrapped with Delmar red sparkle wrap that we had on hand. hoops were refinished and fresh matching inlay added.

The contact cement I used (petroleum based) wasn't fully dried in places when I attached the wrap.  That wet adhesive was left in a state to react with the plastic of the wrap.  The bass drum was bad enough that we replaced a segment of the wrap (on the bottom).  The floor tom and rack tom both have some spots where the wrap has been affected -- leaving spots that are a little rough and less shiny.

Sizes are as follows (depth x diameter):

9" x 13" Serial#158112: non-original tension rods and hoops. shell is drilled for an internal muffler, but the wrap covers it. new heads.

16" x 16" Serial#160051: non-original tension rods and hoops. modern replacement legs. shell is drilled for an internal muffler, but the wrap covers it. new heads.

14" x 22" Serial#171931: all era-appropriate hardware except for the spurs, which are modern Danmar replacements.
